AWS re:Invent - Day 2 RECAP
The keynote everyone was waiting for from CEO Adam Selipsky contained several highlights we needed to share with you all:
✔”The issue of our generation” 👉 our goal of using 100% renewable energy by 2025 for AWS.
✔ Speech by Biljana Kaitovic (Group CIO of ENGIE): ENGIE explains how it is using AWS to accelerate the transition to a carbon neutral economy.
✔ Amazon DataZone: a new data management service to catalog, discover, share and govern data.
✔ EKS protection for GuardDuty: a new capability that adds threat detection at container runtime.
✔ Amazon Security Lake service: this way security teams will be able to easily collect, combine and analyze petabyte-scale security data automatically.
✔ AWS Supply Chain and AWS Clean Rooms apps.
AWS re:Invent - Day 3 RECAP
Charles Moureau, Thierry Turpin and Matthieu COHEN attended the Keynote of Dr Swami Sivasubramanian Sivasubramanian, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Vice President Data & ML.
Here are some highlights from his talk:
✔ “Data is the genesis for modern invention”: great breakthroughs can be achieved when our ideas are combined with prior information and the same is true for organisations, according to Dr Swami Sivasubramanian. However, unlike the human brain, business Data is not centralised. Automation is therefore essential to help us get the most out of our Data, which does not flow naturally like the brain.
✔ Zero-ETL future: As discussed by AWS CEO Adam Selipsky on Tuesday, AWS is moving towards a zero-ETL future by bringing services together to eliminate conflicts and make everything work more smoothly. This includes ETL-free integration of Aurora with Redshift and auto-copying for Amazon Redshift from S3, this will eliminate clutter and constraints in all areas.
✔ This includes AWS Glue Data Quality, which helps users build confidence in their Data so they can make better-informed business-critical decisions every day, reducing manual effort from days to hours.
AWS re:Invent - Day 4 RECAP
